Planet pillar

Introduction to Planet pillar

Planet pillar means the concept of sustainability in the fashion industry. The brand produces fashion products by recycling old materials, using environmentally friendly materials, and using organic sustainable materials such as Acetate, Cotton, etc. The fashion industry is currently one of the most wasteful industries in the world and this pillar is defined to protect our planet. The fashion industry must take into account the world’s environmental pollution to reduce carbon emissions and protect our planet.

What is circular economy?

According to the report from European Parliament, “The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible.   In this way, the life cycle of products is extended. In practice, it implies reducing waste to a minimum. When a product reaches the end of its life, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible thanks to recycling.   These can be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value.” (European Parliament, 2023)

What is sustainability in relation to fashion?

“In short, it’s an umbrella term for clothes that are created and consumed in a way that can be, quite literally,  sustained, while protecting both the environment and those producing garments. That’s why cutting CO2 emissions,  addressing overproduction, reducing pollution and waste, supporting biodiversity,  and ensuring that garment workers are paid a fair wage and have safe working conditions,  are all crucial to the sustainability matrix.” (Emily, 2022)

Describe 1 SDG from the UN SDG which has relevance to and an impact on the fashion industry.

Life on land: The fashion industry’s killing of native cortex, wild animals. Leather bags, coats and other fashion products by the majority of consumers love, the price is also very high. The mass killing and use of wild animals’ fur and the mass cutting down of trees have caused a series of ecological problems. More and more animals and plants are on the verge of extinction, which has a great impact on the ecological balance of the whole earth.
